Lady Gonzalez

Lady Gonzalez (Celia Arias) is a London based visual artist. She started out as an apprentice at The costume House. She launched Lady Gonzalez in 2013, highlighting her signature digital print textile manipulation and then applying it to various fashion items.

I love how imagery has been used in these necklaces to create these bold pieces. Also the colour in the pievces makes them really stand out as bold accessories, which is what Arias was intending.

Again with this piece, I like the bold style of it, made to stand out from others. I especially like the eye design stitched onto the hat as i think it adds a great humorous side to the the piece. The styling of the piece as well stands out to me as there is a lot of use of bright and bold colours as well as the lines and shapes involved in the piece. Overall, giving it a patchwork style when incorporated with the 3-D effect eyes sewn on.

I like the style of this piece as it is using unusual materials to make the piece. Shells have been used on sections of this piece which i think makes it look unusual and quirky, I also like the colours used in this piece as they make the piece stand out but the colours work well together.
