Costumologist Workshop

this workshop focused still on the river project, but mainly on the project 'Derwent Pulse' which would be a light parade flowing doen the river Derwent. I was intrigued by the idea of making a costume around the idea of "breathing". Decinding on where the lights in the costume should go, what colour and style and the type of costume we wanted to create was quite a difficult task as we had to imaginge what they would look like in the dark and which parts would show and which would not.

I enjoyed creating the costume as it was something different which I had never tried before. i aso feel that it gave a different view of the river as you could imaginge the costumes representing the river as they were to flow down the river length. I thik the costumes went well and they all seemed to show up well in the dark of the studio when taking some long exposure photos to create some interesting light photography with the different lights involved and the different styles of costumes each pair had created.
Our costume is the one on the left of the image (above).
